Hexcel Names Leaders for Americas & Global Fibers Business and Chief Technology Officer
Hexcel announced today the following leadership changes:
- Lyndon Smith has been named President – Americas & Global Fibers, effective immediately. In this role, Lyndon will continue his work started as acting president, a role he assumed in January.
Smith joined Hexcel in 2012, holding various senior leadership roles across the company, including time running the Hexcel Global Fibers organization and his most recent role leading the Americas Commercial Aerospace Customer Business Team. Prior to joining Hexcel, Smith held senior management roles in sales, marketing and operations in aerospace and specialty industrial markets, including president for E.V. Roberts, an aerospace distributor, and multiple roles with Henkel’s global aerospace business. Smith has a doctorate and is a fellow and graduate of “The Royal Society of Chemistry” from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom. - Bob Kody is joining Hexcel as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, effective June 2.
Previously, Kody was global vice president, Medical Surgical Business of Solventum Corporation (formerly 3M Healthcare Business Group). He has held various executive roles at 3M Company, including ones in research & technology (R&T), operations and general management. Kody began his career in a research lab as a senior engineer. Through multiple experiences over time, he has established a proven track record of driving innovation, delivering profitable growth, improving operational excellence and commercializing new products. Kody’s unique background and mindset complement the strong leadership and technical expertise at Hexcel.
Kody holds a doctorate and a Master of Science in polymer science and engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. He also earned an executive MBA from the University of Chicago.
